Joey was Playmate of the Month for June 1967. Her pictorial was titled Pal Joey.
Joey was born Josephine Grey on Aug. 11, 1945, in Santa Monica, CA. She graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1963. According to “The Playmate Book — Five Decades of Centerfolds,” Joey had majored in psychology at Santa Monica City College and was working as an assistant to a medical hypnotist at the time of her pictorial.
Following her Playmate of the Month appearance, Joey was arrested and convicted on prostitution charges. According to United Press International, Joey was arrested in a West Hollywood apartment on July 12, 1967, with another woman and a man. Officers said she gave her name as Nancy Cole and said she was employed as a secretary in Santa Monica, where she lived.
